Part-time Lecturer

Type: Temporary, Part-time Lecturers

Description: The Department of Psychology in the School of Social Sciences and Education at California State University, Bakersfield, seeks multiple positions for part-time lecturers in a variety of sub-areas in Psychology. Applications are being accepted to establish a pool of qualified temporary, part-time lecturers.

Biological Psychology (Lower Division)
Child Psychology (Upper Division)
Cognitive Psychology (Upper Division)
Personality Psychology (Upper Division)
Positive Psychology (Upper Division)
Principles of Learning (Upper Division)
Research Methods (Upper Division)
Sensation and Perception (Upper Division)
Social Psychology (Upper Division)
Statistics (Lower Division)

Minimum Qualifications:

For the teaching of Lower Division Courses (with the exception of Biological Psychology), have earned at least a Master's degree in Psychology or a related Behavioral Science with thesis in the sub-area and teaching experience in that area
For the teaching of Upper Division Courses (Biological Psychology included), have a doctorate in Psychology or a related Behavioral Science with Dissertation in the sub-area and teaching experience in that area. The status of ABD will be accepted for interview, but doctorate must be earned by the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Have at least two years teaching experience at a community college or a four-year university
Have experience teaching on-line courses
