Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary: $4,304 per month

Full classification Salary Range: $4,304 - $6,120 per month
  • This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Outreach and Special Programs the incumbent has primary responsibility for providing assistance in the implementation of all OSP related activities. The incumbent is responsible for implementing OSP goals.

Key Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the practices, procedures, and activities of a university outreach, recruiting or admissions department
  • General knowledge of the methods and problems of organizational and program management
  • Knowledge and understanding of student academic needs and challenges to access higher education, outreach efforts to increase educational achievement, specifically among students from diverse populations and language backgrounds.
  • Strong communication, presentation, inter-personal, networking skills and detail-oriented.
  • Skilled in computer software, word-processing, PowerPoint, excel, databases, PeopleSoft, and social media.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities of the position may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field. A Master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.



Department Summary

Outreach and Special Programs (OSP) will dedicate its efforts on early outreach, special initiatives, underrepresented groups, and diversity. OSP will encourage and create a college going culture through exposure, promotion, and activities by partnering with school districts and community organizations. Our goal is to expose elementary and middle school students to post-secondary education and a wide array of careers and majors.
