Job Description

The Facilities Information Analyst will fulfill a critical role in Facilities Management's commitment to promoting technology advancement throughout the division. Recognizing the criticality of managing lifecycle data throughout the phases of a building (planning, design, construction, and operations), this position will be responsible for ensuring a smooth flow of information between systems. In addition, this position will be charged with maintaining campus site data and associated documentation in Facilities Management's geographic information system (GIS). This position will ensure project documentation is extracted from various systems and loaded into Facilities Management's core systems. With a wide variety of systems in use, Facilities Management seeks continuous improvement in the entire staff's use of technology. The GIS / Lifecycle Data Analyst will maintain standards and improve the flow of project close-out data to enable real-time access to accurate information for staff in the office and in the field.
As part of the Facilities Management Information Systems (FMIS) department, this position will collaborate with staff members throughout the division including field technicians, project managers, and others involved in the design and execution of site and building projects. Maintaining and improving established data structures and naming conventions, this position will ensure building equipment data is loaded into Facilities Management's ticketing/asset management system (Autodesk BIM 360 Ops). In addition, this position will ensure that project close-out documentation is organized and filed in the file management system, and that other systems are updated as required.
This position will continue to publish campus data to the ESRI Community Maps program to maintain the University's public-facing campus map. This position will maintain the GIS data and build applications in a manner that will allow self-service and the adoption of the technology by other Facilities personnel, support departments that use Facilities Management's GIS-based campus map, and integrate GIS with other systems and technology.
Systems integration, management of system upgrades, technical documentation, troubleshooting of networked devices, and training of facilities personnel are key functions for all members of the department. Field work associated with data collection, troubleshooting and user training is essential. The FMIS team prioritizes its commitment to training and user support to promote the adoption of forward-leaning technology throughout the Facilities Management division.
