Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Coordinator, Democratic Engagement and Special Events for the Associated Students of University of Nevada (ASUN) Center for Student Engagement (CSE). The Coordinator is the primary contact person who promotes, designs, develops, oversees, and implements democratic engagement opportunities for the ASUN and the CSE. The Coordinator analyzes data assessment and reflection for democratic engagement participants; assists community partners, student services faculty, and students to develop democratic engagement partnerships; and collaborates with departments, clubs, and organizations to promote engagement opportunities both on campus and in the greater Nevada Community. The Coordinator educates and advises students on special events; coordinates event management, planning, and logistics for campus-wide events/programs sponsored by students; and is directly responsible for supervision and execution of successful event production to include paying attention to details, fiscal management, and assessment of learning outcomes. The individual works closely with various campus departments and community agencies collaborating on programs and assesses and provides recommendations on risk/liability issues and vendor negotiations within the framework of University of Nevada, Reno policies and procedures.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and two years of relevant work experience OR; Master's Degree and one year of relevant work experience
Related Experience: student development in higher education, democratic engagement, advising of student organizations, and event planning and management
