Job Description

This position will also be responsible for supporting all analytic initiatives for the HR division. Working closely with the Special Assistant to the VP and the HR Directors, this position will study and interpret data patterns and trends and share insights that will lead to business decisions that support areas such as increasing employee diversity, recruitment, retention, and developing top talent. They will assist in the identification of relevant program/service metrics and evaluate progress toward desired outcome(s). Will make recommendations to improve program/service(s) through fact-based decision-making. Monitor, analyze various HR trends and stay abreast of applicable legislation.

The Analyst, working together with HR liaisons, will provide research, analysis, consultation and guidance on a wide range of compensation programs/policies designed to support business strategies. They will serve as a subject matter expert for all compensation related actions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Compensation Analyst: 60%

Assist in the implementation and administration of compensation policies and programs.

Conduct market analysis and evaluate new positions or reclassification requests. Provide recommendations requiring a broad understanding of compensation techniques, methods, and practices.

Provide counsel to staff and HR liaisons regarding compensation action for employees.

Recommend corrective and alternative actions to resolve problems.

Provide analysis & counsel for employment offers.

Participate in special studies of problem areas requiring job analysis, job evaluation, or similar techniques.

Participate in the conducting of and/or completion of annual salary surveys (CUPA, EDUCOMP, TSG, ACJU Survey, etc.). Design and conduct ad hoc surveys for targeted position/jobs. Respond to survey requests within appropriate confidentiality parameters. Provide analysis of BC salaries against survey results.

Participate in the administration of the annual merit review program working with management and department HR Liaisons. Assist in the evaluation and effectiveness of the annual merit process.

Produce annual and longitudinal reports

Serve as an internal source for recruiters, HR Liaisons and managers.

Participate in additional projects as required.

HR Data Analyst: 40%

Will gather both qualitative and quantitative data to better inform strategic HR decisions.

Assist with the development of metrics for various functional areas within HR.

Research, develop, and analyze metrics regarding workforce planning, compensation, benefits, and program utilization, payroll, employee demographics and turnover trends.

Work together with HRIT and ITS to develop standard reporting capabilities.

Ensure metrics align with HR policies, practices, requirements, and applicable legal regulations.



Preferred skills and competencies

Must be highly analytical and have demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems using statistical analysis and financial concepts
Ability to see the "big picture.
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
Possess strong working knowledge of federal and state regulations
Requires knowledge of BC budget, payroll and position management processes
Strong Excel proficiency required
Ability to work as a team.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, reporting and visualization tools.
Knowledge of Tableau and other data visualization tools.
Working knowledge of SPSS or equivalent statistical systems preferred.
Strong attention to detail

Project management skills desirable.



$78,100-$97,650 for Senior level
$64,150-$80,200 for non-senior level



Requirements

A Bachelor degree required, an advanced degree in higher education/Business Administration is preferred

Experience
For Senior Level 5 years' professional experience in salary administration and/or HR Analytics is required
For Non-Senior level 3 years' professional experience in salary administration and/or HR Analytics is required
