Reporting directly to the Provost, the Associate Dean has overall responsibility for the College's two Liberal Arts degrees programs, (A.A. and A.S.), two of the largest majors at the College. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Curriculum review and evaluation
  • General education and transfer as part of the implementation of Pathways
  • New degree and certificate program development
  • Development of articulation agreements
  • Development of high school collaborative programs.

    Other areas of the Associate Dean's portfolio include:

    1) Overall coordination of the state-mandated experiential learning educational component added to all curricula;
    2) Guiding the Academic Division's workforce development efforts, including creating joint initiatives with the Division for Adult and Continuing Education;
    3) Spearheading the division's projects for the CUNY Job Linkage and Workforce Development Initiative (WDI).

    The Associate Dean supervises the College Now and Early College units, special assignments for the Provost, as needed, as well as, serving on the Provost's and the President's Cabinets.



    QUALIFICATIONS


    This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Additional qualifications are defined below by the College.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    A doctorate or terminal degree is preferred.
