Job Description

The Assistant Director, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for implementing Facilities Management strategic sourcing initiatives campus-wide while managing best-in-class strategic supplier relationships, contracts, and service agreements. This position works collaboratively with all departments to better understand needs and develop sourcing strategies that successfully meet specific requirements. Key responsibilities include managing strategic supplier relationships; implementing supplier performance and quality management programs; and executing improvements and innovations that further enhance University/supplier relations. The Assistant Director also negotiates supplier contracts to maximize cost savings, improve customer satisfaction, enhance administrative and operational efficiencies, mitigate risk, and comply with complex policies. Additionally, this position manages the day-to-day operations of the Strategic Sourcing Officer and oversees training on processes and policies, assists with navigating through new purchase and/or project procedures, provides coaching, and encourages development.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $82,050 to $102,550; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

This position requires a Bachelor's degree; 5+ years of progressively responsible work experience in contracts, purchasing and strategic sourcing; proven expertise in facilities sourcing of critical facilities systems services and commodities; and strong project management skills with proven experience in successfully managing and executing multiple/large-scale initiatives. High level financial and business acumen, along with strong process/analytical skills are essential. Extensive knowledge of Higher Education Consortium or general Consortium business, a plus. Experience with eProcurement systems; working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials; and proficiency with Microsoft Office (data analysis functions in Excel and ability to generate management summaries of data), are required.

Preferred:
Master's in Business Administration
Certification by a recognized professional organization, i.e. Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Associate in Contract Management (CACM), Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM), or Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)
