Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admission and Recruitment, Regional Representative provides oversight and management for a major function related to the recruitment, enrollment, and retention of undergraduate students to the Hilltop campus. Major function areas include, but are not limited to, transfer recruitment, multicultural recruitment, alumni/parent volunteers; counselor relations and events; and campus events and programming. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Admission, and working collaboratively with all admission colleagues, the Assistant Director is charged with providing the highest quality programmatic development and student experience to achieve enrollment goals.

The Assistant Director is charged with providing the highest quality programmatic development and student experience to achieve enrollment goals. This position is also charged with Slate related functions including but not limited to maintenance of organization and contact records, data and reporting, and texting campaigns. Additionally, the assistant director will support transfer initiatives particularly related to GTAP and summer/mid-year support for transfer matriculation. This position will also be heavily involved in supporting website maintenance and development and will also provide support for the campus lead on counselor relations.

Job Responsibilities:

Extensive travel required. The Assistant Director will visit between 80-100 high schools in the fall, attend college fairs, build connections with community colleges, meet individually with students and families, and plan events for prospective and admitted students.
As a key member of the Transfer Task Force, the Assistant Director will be responsible for visiting community colleges with the designated territory, build relationships with transfer center advisors, and facilitate articulation agreements with community colleges in the area.
Counsel prospective students and families about admission, transfer credit, financial aid, academic programs, and student life at USF
The Assistant Director also supports outreach initiatives as defined by the Senior Associate Director for Access and Inclusion.
In addition to student focused activities, the Assistant Director will do extensive outreach to high school counselors and transfer center advisors to bring visibility to USF and the opportunities of a USF education.
Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to build an Alumni and Parent Admission Program. The Assistant Director will also work closely with Alumni Relations and Parent Relations at USF to strengthen relationships between alumni and prospective/admitted students.
Develops an expansive training program related to the Alumni and Parent Admission Program and continues on-going training and professional development for all the admissions team. Develops training materials, documentation, support, and programs to ensure best practices and impact.
Reviews admission files, determines eligibility, decides which applicants are qualified for admission to USF and makes admission decisions for both first-time first-year students and transfer students.
Assesses and analyzes results of recruitment and program management efforts and then develops and implements appropriate changes based on the analysis
Utilizes data service and market analysis tools to plan recruitment and yield strategy
Contributes to the yearly planning and evaluation of recruitment and admission programs.
Assists in management of visit and other special event programs for prospective and admitted students that effectively increase matriculation and ensure safe and informative experiences for students and their families
The Assistant Director is expected to be at major events on USFs campus and attend trainings and meetings as determined by the Director of Undergraduate Admission and Recruitment.
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelors degree with three or more years in admissions required.
Previous experience as a regional admission counselor desirable.
Demonstrated public speaking experience and excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to evaluate and refine programming logistics, service offerings, and scheduling
Proven ability to successfully plan, prioritize, and multitask and to work with minimal supervision and to follow through and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, diverse, and team-oriented environment.
Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
Advanced computer/technical proficiency.
Must be willing and able to work some evenings and weekends.

Spanish, Mandarin or Tagalog speaker a plus
