Job Description

The Administrative & Program Specialist in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences supports the academic and research work of the faculty and students. Tasks include coordinating department spending and associated paperwork, preparing and updating department course listings and other department literature and communications, assisting students with registration and graduation issues, and maintaining files and department records concerning faculty and students.

The Administrative & Program Specialist needs to be able to work independently, be well organized, be able to establish priorities, and be capable of supervising students who work in the department. They must be adept at dealing regularly with a diverse group of people, including students, faculty, administrators, and staff within the Boston College community, and do so in a pleasant manner. They must be able to work with interruptions, re-allocate resources within authorized limits, and deal with confidential matters that range from the Chair's correspondence to student files, letters, and grades.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $43,250 to $54,050; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Three years of previous administrative support experience is required, experience in higher education is desired.
