Job Description

Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant works as part of a team to assist the chairperson and support the faculty in virtually all aspects of the department, performing a wide range of responsibilities in an open and active work space. They work directly with faculty, students, staff and visitors, responding to their needs and requests, while serving as direct liaison between the department and other university departments (e.g., Student Services, Morrissey College Service Center, Event Management, Buildings and Grounds).

Responsibilities include course scheduling, student registration issues, and classroom space requests, as well as management of the online course catalog and of departmental information included in all university publications. The Administrative Assistant works with the faculty members, the service center and the Dean's office, to monitor the various departmental budgets and to ensure that reimbursement, payroll, and procurement requests are submitted correctly.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $40,300 to $50,400; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

3-5 years administrative experience required, experience in higher education preferred. High school degree is required, BA preferred.
