Do you have a passion for incredible storytelling and know the importance of fact-based, fair and independent daily news journalism?

Are you curious about the world with a desire to explain it to the widest possible audience?

Can you harness the power of amazing audio to demystify complex topics, and cut through the avalanche of content and information we get every day?

Are you driven by the mission and purpose of community funded, public media organizations, and the role they play with audiences?

Here & Now is looking for a world-class producer to be part of our dynamic team.

Here & Now is the third most listened to news magazine program on public radio across America, made in Boston by WBUR as a unique co-production with NPR.

We reach over 500 radio stations nationwide and attract more than five million listeners each week on the radio, on our podcast, and through social media. We air Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET, with updates and rollovers from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET.

We're looking for a producer who will join daily editorial meetings immersed in the news, with ideas for stories, treatments, guests and angles which provide content and clarity for our audience. You'll be as comfortable working on stories about international news and political leaders as you are with members of the public affected by the news.

You will conceive, pitch, research and execute story ideas across all platforms working closely with the program's hosts and editors. You'll be well versed at the techniques to intrigue audiences, keep them informed in a way that resonates with their lives, and create moments where they just have to keep listening.

We're looking for someone who always keeps the audience at the heart of their work and thrives in the fast-paced world of live broadcasting.

You will be skilled in editing audio and able to provide editorial support for the hosts, as well as working with audio engineers to ensure all systems run smoothly in the studio.

You'll also be able to translate stories across multiple platforms, so they reach new audiences on social media, the web, our podcast, as well as through video and live events. You will have experience of working closely with news hosts; to prepare for live interviews and 2-ways but also on planned, longer-form projects and field reporting.

Fundamentally, you'll be an exceptional team player with the work ethic and attitude to join our close-knit team. You can work independently and enjoy being part of a collaborative team whose members seek to elevate each other's work.
