Job Description

This position develops, creates and maintains all forms of video projects for the faculty, staff, and administration of Boston College. The position demonstrates practical and creative abilities in digital and analog media production, such as digital video and audio editing, streaming video, video production techniques, and DVD creation. In addition, the position is responsible for the video production of select University events and projects. The incumbent should possess an understanding of the concept, design and development of digital media projects, including extensive knowledge of a variety of design, development, and production software and technology.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Planning, videotaping and production of various University events and projects
- Editing of video productions using Final Cut Pro7 and Adobe Premiere editing systems
- Compressing of video into digital formats such as QuickTime, Windows Media, and MPEG-4 and audio podcasts
- Creation of digital and web videos for use on the Internet, WebCT, and PowerPoint
- Creation and duplication of DVD's
- Supervision and Training of student employees
- Assistance with the planning and implementation of videoconferences

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $43,250 to $54,050; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Communications, Multimedia, Video Production, or related discipline preferred along with a minimum of three years of experience in the field.
Experience with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Video/Multimedia field.
Candidate must have the ability to manage projects and work independently with clients, and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience in non-linear computer based editing, and knowledge of video camera operation and associated production skills are necessary.
Staying up to date on new and emerging technologies in the digital media field is essential.
Experience in higher education preferable.
Position requires evening and weekend hours.
