Job Description

Maintain the safe operation of the Central Heating Plant
Oversee that regulatory requirements of the Dept of Public Safety and Dept of Environmental Protection are followed at the Central Heating Plant.
Ensure all operations are in compliance with all State and Federal Requirements (OSHA). Oversees the maintenance and operation of all large satellite boiler plants on campus and meets all requirements as stated above.
Supervisor is responsible for all water treatment activities on campus, this includes coordinating with the water treatment vendor and in-house personnel to ensure that all systems are within operating parameters and all record keeping is maintained. This includes all hot and chilled water loops, steam and condensate systems and cooling towers.
The Supervisor will provide direct project management of MEP projects ranging in scope from small annuals to large majors in excess of $2 million per project. Projects will include steam distribution upgrades, large boiler room upgrades and large HVAC equipment upgrades.The Supervisor Central Heating Plant must also prioritize all equipment replacements and system upgrades as necessary to keep all systems operational as required.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $77,750 to $97,200; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

Must have at least 7 years steam plant operational experience. Experience as a Chief Engineer preferred. Must be able to read mechanical, electrical and plumbing CAD drawings. Must have experience managing MEP upgrade projects.

Must have Massachusetts Second Class Engineer's License. Must have Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection UST Class A/B Operator Certificate. Must be certified to conduct EPA method 9 (visible emissions) observations.
