General Summary: Promotes, coordinates and administers program, events and activities for students outside of the classroom setting, which may include intercollegiate athletics, intramurals, recreational activities, social and cultural events, student clubs and organizations and/or student publications.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related field (Master's degree preferred). Ability to multitask, plan successful activities and adhere to budgets, insurance and policies and procedures. Good communication, people and leadership skills. Experience coordinating student programs, advising student organizations, publications and/or publicity. Ability to work with a diverse student population. Knowledge of marketing, public relations, club organizations and/or athletics. Experience in a college setting; technologically literate.

Duties:

In general, duties consist of advising, coordinating and administering programs. Specific duties and responsibilities vary by function focus of particular position. Job may involve assisting with activities/events outside the specific focus of the job such as New Student Orientation and other campus and college-wide celebrations. Position may also involve monitoring budgets, supervising and mentoring students, ordering supplies and attending meetings.

For positions focused on Athletics, Intramurals and Recreational Activities, typical duties may include:

1. Implements intramural and recreational activities.

2. Provides a safe workout atmosphere for students, staff and faculty.

3. Supervises the gym, weight room and fitness center.

4. Schedules/coordinates events including intercollegiate and intramural matches.

5. Processes athletic paperwork including invoices, game contracts, athletic eligibility and student paperwork.

6. Performs other duties as assigned.

For positions focused on Student Publications/Media, typical duties may include:

1. Coordinate the planning and implementation of a comprehensive calendar of programming that meets the needs of a diverse student population, and which contributes to the growth and development of students.

2. Explore, create and execute new opportunities for active and passive engagement.

3. Effectively communicate events to the college community through innovative marketing strategies.

4. Coordinate and market an incentive program for event attendance. Maintain a tracking system for event attendees.

5. Serve as the expert and advisor for the Student Newspaper at both campus and center locations.

6. Engage a student newspaper staff that will regularly produce a paper.

7. Serve as campus point person for Social Media postings.

8. Support clubs on campus by working with them to produce quality programming.

9. Produce collaborative programming with staff from across the College.

10. Coordinate, create and design all departmental marketing advertisements including posters/signs, billboards, TV monitor slides, chalkboards, and all other methods of advertising.

11. Design the bi-annual Student Life catalog, outlining information on all Student Life department programs and services.

12. Perform other duties as assigned

For positions focused on Student Clubs/Organizations, typical duties may include:

1. Coordinate the planning and implementation of a comprehensive calendar of programming that meets the needs of a diverse student population, and which contributes to the growth and development of students.

2. Explore, create and execute new opportunities for active and passive engagement.

3. Effectively communicate events to the college community through innovative marketing strategies.

4. Coordinate and market an incentive program for civic engagement event attendance. Maintain a tracking system for event attendees.

5. Serve as the expert and advisor for community-based programs, including building and maintaining relationships with community organizations in the surrounding area that will increase opportunities for student civic engagement.

6. Provide leadership development training for students.

7. Support clubs by working with them to produce quality programming.

8. Produce collaborative programming with staff from across the college.

9. Perform other duties as assigned

For positions focused on Entertainment, Cultural and Special Events, typical duties may include:

1. Assists with planning and implementing programs.

2. Publicizes and promotes events and activities.

3. Assists with fundraising and expenditures.

4. Prepares mailings.

5. Arranges presentations.

6. Performs other duties as assigned.



Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
