Job Description:

Position Description:



Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Enrollment: Advising/LifeMap and Assessment, the Senior Special Programs Coordinator/Transfer Advisor assists in the oversight of a variety of statewide initiatives and works with the internal and external stakeholders in support of the College's student success and completion agenda. This position also develops transfer programming and provides advising to a variety of students who intend to transfer into a baccalaureate degree-granting program.



Specific Duties:



  • Participates in statewide transfer meetings and related events; develops and delivers training on statewide transfer pathways programs and other resources to faculty, staff and students.

  • Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to fully implement enrollment, advising and transfer activities including the development and implementation of guided pathways for transfer initiatives.



  • Monitors and reports on progress regarding Tuition Free Community College and Commonwealth Commitment initiatives.


  • Provides support and trainings for LifeMap and Enrollment Services staff and Success Boston coaches at Bunker Hill.
  • Assist with the coordination of transfer activities and provides transfer information to faculty, staff and students on the transferability of courses scholarships, articulation agreements, etc.
  • Collaborates with the Associate Dean of Enrollment and LifeMap staff to develop outreach programs and other supports in an effort to re-engage "stop out" students who have left the College prior to degree completion.
  • Assist students in developing short and long term academic, career, transfer goals and life plans; review alignments of academic, career and educational goals with student interests, skills, intent to transfer and personal financial requirements.
  • Assist with the advisement and registration of all new and continuing students regarding their academic plan, course selection, academic program selections, and career and transfer exploration.
  • Collaborate with faculty and LifeMap staff to implement academic, career, and transfer advising across the curriculum; assisting with the design and/or facilitation of academic, career, and transfer related classroom presentations including learning communities.
  • Collects and maintains accurate data and develops reports as directed by the Associate Dean of Enrollment.
  • Serves on committees and advisory councils as needed or assigned.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or other closely related field.
  • Three or more years of experience and or training in college admissions, academic or transfer advising, career development or program/project management or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a student centered advising environment.
  • Cultural awareness and competency demonstrated by working with and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities including socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity and veterans status as well as those with different levels of academic preparation and varying physical and learning abilities.
  • Proficiency in student information systems and technology including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience supporting long-term projects.
  • Previous work experience at a community college.
  • Ability to work Saturdays during peak registration periods.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $54,956.00 - $59,209.00 Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education & Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full state Benefits.
