What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking a Program Manager to support the mission and vision of Baylor University within the School of Music (SoM) by overseeing the administration and implementation of Baylor's Shaping Young Worshipers Through Transformative Music Ministry grant project. This will include planning, organizing, leading, evaluating all project activities such as personnel, operations, budgets, contracts, locations, and other needed components for this work. Additionally, this position will work alongside staff from the Dunn Center for Christian Music Studies to plan and coordinate select programs and events sponsored by the Dunn Center. This will include the Alleluia Conference, Northcutt Lecture Series, and Dunn Center Advisory Board Gatherings.

This position is funded through February 2027 by a grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc., with the possibility of a continuation through additional grant initiatives and awarded proposals.

A Bachelor's Degree and two years of relevant work experience is required. A Master's Degree and five years of relevant work experience is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do
  • Working with Primary Investigators (PIs) to develop overarching scope of program
  • Processing, tracking, compliance of grant
  • Maintain relationships with external Baylor partners comprising of an ecumenical, multi-cultural, and geographically diverse group
  • Create documents for partners in collaboration with graphic work of Program Coordinator (PC) and financial advice of SoM staff
  • Year 2.5-5 Support PIs in creating head hunt list, recruiting, and maintaining relationships (and paperwork) with 10-13 practitioner writers
  • Move forward plan to inform funding availability and assure available funds to planned events; supported practically by the PC monthly tracking of expenses
  • Act as sounding board to PIs on financial viability of evolving plans in relation to budget and proposal to Lilly Endowment, Inc.
  • Support the PIs in grant related expense claims and travel authorizations.
  • Monitor application and review process
  • Draft yearly reports/extensions in dialogue with PIs
  • Institutional Review Board (IRB) - Assist PIs with required research protocol submissions
  • Become informed on bibliography and current trends
  • Facilitate learning communities/round tables as is helpful to PIs
  • Conduct interviews as directed by the PIs
  • Working with team to collect and analyze data.
  • Collaborate with the Dunn Center for Christian Music Studies staff to vision for, implement, and oversee select programs and their activities in accordance with the mission, goals, policies, and procedures of the Dunn Center for Christian Music Studies and the University
  • Develop an evaluation framework to assess the strengths of programs and to identify areas for their improvement
  • Provide collaborative troubleshooting with the Director and Associate Director as challenges arise related to the implementation of the Center's vision
  • Guide student leadership team in the planning of Dunn Center Advisory Board Meetings
  • Serves on coordinating team for the annual Alleluia Conference.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
