Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez, the Board of Trustees of The City University of New York (CUNY) and the Presidential Search Committee invite nominations and applications for the position of President of Queensborough Community College, CUNY. Queensborough Community College (QCC) seeks a proven, collaborative leader who is committed to public higher education.

The Institution: Founded in 1959, Queensborough Community College is considered one of the finest two-year schools in the nation, offering a world-class, low-cost, transformational education. The Chronicle of Higher Education and Community College Week have hailed Queensborough as a top-degree producer and a leading college in regard to social mobility into the middle class. Queensborough offers students the opportunity to complete their degrees without the debt associated with college education; nearly 90 percent of students graduate without student loan debt. Accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, Queensborough Community College, through its 17 academic departments, offers transfer and degree programs, including Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.), and Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees. The College boasts ten dual/joint programs, 16 additional transfer degree programs, 14 career programs, and five certificate programs. More than 415 full-time faculty and 491 part-time faculty serve the College and 86 percent of full-time faculty hold a doctoral or terminal degree. Since 2015, Queensborough has been named a top producer of Fulbright Scholars and Students. The College's faculty and students are actively engaged in research across campus and consistently acquire between four and six million dollars per year in sponsored program funding. More than 13,000 students are currently enrolled in associate degree or certificate programs, and another 10,000 students attend continuing education programs on the Queensborough campus. Queensborough has one of the most diverse student populations in the nation, with nearly equal populations of African-American, Asian, Caucasian, and Latino students. Queensborough students come from 130 countries and speak 79 different languages. Approximately 50% are first generation college students. There are over 50 active clubs and organizations, as well as 14 women's and men's varsity teams, ten of which have recently won CUNYAC championships. Queensborough is renowned for its award-winning Queensborough Academies, a nationally recognized student support initiative that serves all full-time degree students from the moment they enter to graduation and beyond. The College is a publicly supported institution with a total operating budget exceeding $113 million. The College boasts more than 80,000 alumni. The Queensborough Community College Fund, Inc, a non-profit organization, raises funds from private sources to advance the educational and cultural programs of the College. The Position: Reporting to the Chancellor of the CUNY System and operating within policies established by the CUNY Board of Trustees, the President is responsible for preserving and enhancing the academic excellence of QCC. The President is responsible for the recruitment, development, and retention of QCC's distinguished faculty and staff to advance the College's programs and to support student success. The President will lead the college community to uphold and enhance fair and responsive policies and procedures, establish and execute an effective affirmative action program, and to appropriately allocate fiscal resources to advance the College's mission. Queensborough's President leads the college in exploring new opportunities that best serve students with relevant and innovative programs. Directly reporting to the President are the Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for Student Affairs, Vice President for Finance & Administration, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Vice President & Chief Communication and Marketing Officer, Affirmative Action & Compliance Officer, Title IX Officer, Dean for Human Resources and Labor Relations, and two Executive Assistants. The President is a visible leader in the borough of Queens and New York City who communicates and connects the internal and external college community to the College's mission.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a record of executive leadership, sound fiscal management and experience in a senior administrative position in higher education. QCC's next President must demonstrate strategic planning and implementation skills, a strong commitment to shared governance, a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, and a history of effective management that creatively and effectively responds to emerging opportunities and challenges facing urban community colleges. An understanding of contemporary issues and challenges in higher education is necessary for QCC's next President. Candidates should show a demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching. This person must maintain the utmost personal and professional integrity; a strong political acumen; excellent oral and written communication skills; and a commitment to seeking financial support from corporations, governmental sources, and private donors. An earned doctorate or terminal degree is required for candidacy.

Location: Queensborough is located on the 37-acre site of the former Oakland Golf and Country Club in Bayside, NY, a picturesque, residential neighborhood in Northeast Queens.
