Job Summary
The UM-Flint School of Nursing is seeking a part-time faculty member to teach NUR 410 - Theoretical Concepts of Population-Centered Nursing - clinical section in the pre-licensure BSN program for the fall 2019 semester.

Salary: $4,345

Course Description: Synthesis of nursing and public health science, focusing on maintenance of optimal levels of health and wellness among individuals, families, groups and aggregates in community settings. Introduction to epidemiology principles, with emphasis on disease prevention and health promotion among population groups. In clinical experiences in varied community settings, students apply synthesized knowledge and practice nursing skills essential in caring for a community's health.

  • Identify community health clinical sites and clinical teaching associates (CTAs) for 12-14 students
  • Make site visits and meet with students and CTAs throughout the semester about student performance, challenges, and difficulties and address any issues between students, CTAs, and agency staff
  • Grade clinical assignments

Required Qualifications*
  • Minimum MSN, doctorate preferred
  • Previous experience teaching or practicing in a community or public health setting
  • Unencumbered RN license in the state of Michigan
