Job Description

The Employment Office in the Human Resources Department of Boston College seeks a Temporary Receptionist/Staff Assistant for a twelve-week assignment. This position will be onsite in the front office of the Employment department. The person in this role will be the first point of contact for most employees requiring HR assistance as well as applicants for our open positions. Duties will include transferring calls, responding to questions, and providing updates to applicants.

Special projects may be assigned by the Director and Assistant Director of Employment to include vendor contact, preparation of documents and spreadsheets, and the use of Google calendars. Other duties may include:

Recording meeting notes
Checking the lockbox daily for documents
Listening to the department voicemail and distributing messages
Assisting student workers and department employees with projects

Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00

Requirements

A High School diploma or GED is required
Proficiency in MS Office suite
Must be detailed orientated and manage deadlines effectively
Must possess excellent communication skillsboth oral and written
Must have the ability to work well with diverse groups of people
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Must possess strong customer service skills and a friendly, helpful demeanor
The ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, or French Creole is a plus
