Human Resources Coordinator

Title: Human Resources Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

Manages the College's onboarding, benefits, leave and workers' compensation programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as the agency benefits coordinator for the College and contact person for all benefit vendors. This includes life-cycle administration of medical, dental, vision, disability, retirement and other supplemental benefit programs for new hires, active employees, separating employees and retirees from initial enrollment through termination of benefits and includes intermediate changes due to qualifying events and/or voluntary changes due to annual enrollment options.

Develops a comprehensive communication strategy for disseminating benefit information, options, plan/vendor changes and premium adjustments to employees. Coordinates the annual benefit fair and annual enrollment period for the College.

Maintains the content of the College's benefit webpage.

Coordinates the design and delivery of new employee orientation and onboarding.

Inputs new hire information into the Human Resources Information System (Banner) and runs periodic reports to ensure accuracy of data.

Manages the FMLA/LOA process for the College, including providing counsel to both employees and supervisors on the process, developing appropriate communications to all parties and devising effective methods for reporting leave/benefit deduction information to payroll.

Assists with requests for accommodation pursuant to ADA and assists with other associated ADA processes.

Directs the College's workers' compensation program.

Manages the educational assistance programs for employees and dependents.

Conducts benefits exit meetings and provides separating employees with benefit continuation information.

Oversees employee service awards and other recognition programs.

Serves on relevant College and TBR committees as needed or assigned.

Maintains and updates policies, procedures and forms used within the Office of Human Resources.

May assist with a variety of special projects and reports.

Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field

Five years' Human Resources experience

Two years' experience administering benefits and leave programs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification

Experience with Banner or other HRIS systems

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws, including FMLA, ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, ADA, USERRA, FLSA and other relevant regulations.

Broad knowledge of HR field and related processes.

Ability to distill information and analyze, interpret and apply applicable laws, regulations and policies.

Superior oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community.

Must possess sound judgment and the ability to make independent administrative and procedural decisions regarding sensitive matters.

Must maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information.

Ability to build effective relationships at all levels across the organization.

Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing tasks and priorities while maintaining complete and accurate records.

Strong computer skills, including familiarity with database management and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Knowledge of HRIS applications.

Rate of Pay: $45,496 - $56,870 annually depending on experience
