Job Summary
The Engineering Career Resource Center (ECRC) is a fast paced Career Services office serving Engineering and Computer Science students at all academic levels. In addition to serving students, the ECRC facilitates employer job postings, events and campus interviews for companies who wish to hire Michigan Engineering students. The ECRC Recruiting Coordinator collaborates with colleagues to provide high quality support to students and employers through a variety of employment related activities.

Responsibilities*
Campus Recruiting/Employer Relations

Organize and manage job postings and prepare campus interview materials. Identify needs of employers and determine appropriate preparation measures for their visit to campus. Make independent decisions on the spot during phone and face to face interactions with employers related to their campus interviews. Maintain a strong customer service focus while engaging with students and employers during career related events.

Administrative

Utilize independent judgment to evaluate and respond to student and employer emails, phone and in-person inquiries. Make decisions on behalf of the ECRC related to student access and account data within Engineering Careers, by Symplicity. Evaluate employer accounts and job postings for accuracy, appropriateness and activity level. Make decisions to approve or deny access/postings. Provide administrative and programmatic support to ECRC staff to execute successful on-campus recruiting events.

Special Projects

Event preparation/execution, assisting Directors and Career Services Managers on projects as needed.

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and appropriately handle issues of a confidential or sensitive nature
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated tactful customer service skills and willingness to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide-array of students from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to manage multiple detailed tasks at one time, set priorities, and employ high level reasoning skills

Desired Qualifications*
Experience in student program development and implementation; event planning experience; online recruiting systems such as Symplicity CRM; Career Services, Talent Acquisition or Human Resources; and/or a high volume, fast paced, customer focused office and ability to accomplish multiple tasks efficiently.

Work Schedule
Location: North campus

Shift: M-F, 7:00-4:00 (with some evenings and weekends)

Supervision received from an Assistant Director
