Position Overview:
The Director leads and manages all programming efforts to strengthen student recruitment and retention within the College of Science. This position reports to the Dean, College of Science, or designee.
Duties may include:
Duties may include:
- Development and implementation of marketing and recruiting strategies to attract new students
- Implementation and management of effective student retention strategies
- Counsel students experiencing academic difficulty
- Coordinate special events on and off campus for current and prospective students and stakeholders
- Oversee the colleges scholarship awarding process
- Work with college leadership, faculty members, and college and university committees as needed
- Collaborate with Strategic Enrollment Management to meet university and college recruiting and retention goals
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- Experience working in higher education
- Ability to edit and write business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials
- Demonstrated experience with computer operation and software programs
Required Education:
- Bachelors degree in a STEM field, communications, marketing, or closely related field
Required Other:
- Ability and willingness to travel 4-6 weeks each year
- Ability to work irregular hours, nights, and weekends as necessary to accomplish the requirements for this position
Additional Preferred:
- Marketing and/or communications experience
- Experience in student advising
- Familiarity with UI records systems, regulations, and processes
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 30 lbs
