Writing faculty belong to a multi-disciplinary Humanities and Arts department (HUA). HUA Faculty may direct junior-year projects at over 45 different project centers in 25 different countries. Popular Mechanics recently ranked WPI the #1 university for scientists to study abroad.

We are seeking candidates with a strong background and demonstrated excellence in writing pedagogy. We are especially interested in candidates whose combined teaching and research interests examine the intersections between belief, ethics, and one or more STEM discipline. Candidates with backgrounds or undergraduate training in STEM fields and whose research has applicability for ethics/bioethics, pedagogies for recruiting and promoting diversity in STEM fields, and/or public understanding of and engagement with science are especially encouraged to apply. Ph.D. with specialization in rhetoric, linguistics, technical communication, or allied field must be in hand by September 2019.

We plan to conduct Skype interviews in spring 2019. Interested candidates should submit full applications, including letter, curriculum vitae, sample of scholarly work, statements of research plans, teaching philosophy, and commitment to diversity and inclusion, sample of scholarly work, and a list of 3 confidential references to our online Human Resources site. We will begin reviewing applications on February 20 and continue until we fill the position. For full consideration, please apply by February 20. Salary includes an excellent fringe benefits package.
