Job Description:
APPOINTMENT: Tenure-track appointment beginning August 2019.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful applicant will teach courses in their area of expertise plus additional Computer Science or Cyber Security courses.
RANK & SALARY: Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD in Computer Science or closely related field. Although preference is given to candidates with a completed PhD by the appointment start date, ABDs in Computer Science will be considered. ABDs who have not completed the PhD within one year from their start date will receive a terminal contract.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: All those who satisfy the required qualifications are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a willingness and the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science or cyber security. Preference may be given to candidates with research or teaching backgrounds in cyber security, software engineering, especially including server-side web development or mobile application development, databases, big data, data analytics, many-core architectures, or GPGPU. Preference may be given to candidates with teaching backgrounds in two of: computer science, cyber security, and information systems. Candidates should also demonstrate a willingness to develop and deliver innovative courses.
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body).

THE DEPARTMENT: The School of Computer Sciences offers a B.S. and a M.S. in Computer Science, a B.S. in Information Systems, and a B.S. in Cyber Security. Macomb is an Amtrak city with twice-daily service to Chicago. Macomb is located approximately 75 miles from the Quad Cities International Airport (Moline, IL) and 70 miles from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport (Peoria, IL).

WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,267): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education and a doctorate in environmental studies, at its metropolitan campus in Moline, IL.
