Adjunct Instructor, Biomedical Ethics

The Department of Philosophy at Simmons University seeks an adjunct instructor to teach one section of Biomedical Ethics during the Spring 2019 semester.

The course is scheduled to run on Mondays from 3:00- 05:50PM, is capped at 25 students, and is typically taught as a combination of lecture and discussion.

Course Title and Description
PHIL-131-01: Biomedical Ethics
Examines moral questions concerning rights and responsibilities in professional biomedical relationships. Includes issues such as truth-telling, informed consent, privacy, confidentiality, patient self-determination, reproductive technologies, euthanasia, eugenics, and broader questions of justice in health care.

Qualifications:
Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or be an advanced PhD candidate) in Philosophy and possess a commitment to excellence in teaching.
