Arizona State University is seeking to hire a public policy leader with multi-faceted research expertise and broad experience in policy analysis to serve as director of the Morrison Institute for Public Policy. A unit in the School of Public Affairs in the College of Public Programs, the Morrison Institute is Arizonas most established applied public policy research institute. Academic and non-academic candidates will be considered. For academics, rank and discipline are open. Successful candidates will have a strong history of externally funded research and an ability to actively engage global, national, and local communities in substantive policy discussions.

The director must have a significant record of research in local, state, and federal policy issues. In addition, the director will bring a proven history of community and university leadership and the capacity to develop collaborative opportunities and research projects for and among the core research staff, graduate students, and selected faculty members. Experience and/or knowledge of public policy research and development in Arizona is especially valued. The director will bring a strong record of fundraising from government entities, foundations, corporations, and individuals.

The Morrison Institute for Public Policy was established through a gift from Marvin and June Morrison of Gilbert, Arizona. Throughout its more than 30-year history, the Institute has fulfilled a mission of providing independent, timely public policy information to leaders and residents. The Morrison Institutes applied research has been widely used throughout Arizona and elsewhere to inform, advise, and assist policy leaders and others who influence public policy. The Institute is noted for its quality research, useable, highly communicative publications, and deep community involvement. Arizona Policy Choices is Morrison Institutes signature publication series. The Morrison Institute is supported largely by grants and contracts with limited public dollars.
