The position of Advisor/Recruiter reports directly to the Director of Running Start. This position provides advisement, recruitment and other support services to high schools and high school students participating in EWU's Running Start program. Responsibilities also include providing transitional support for students from high school to regularly admitted status at the university. The advisor/recruiter also represents EWU and its Running Start program to prospective students and families as well as high school professionals.

Conditions of Employment
Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight travel, to represent EWU programs, to consult students, parents and high school professionals.
This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt or, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check for continued employment.
This position is part of the PSE bargaining unit.
Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required, in order to fulfill the position requirements.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Two years' full time work experience in one or more of the following areas within an academic work environment:
recruitment, advising, or registration in a high school setting or higher education
OR
experience in a high school administration
OR
experience in administrative support in higher education
OR
significant teaching experience in a high school setting
OR
providing student support services in either high school or higher education settings
OR
other closely related experience.
Knowledge of policies and procedures involved in recruiting/advising, and registering students at an institution of high education
Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in education or related field
Experience in the use of complex, multi-dimensional information systems; for example, campus server systems, student information systems and/or financial records systems.
Experience using Banner
Other Skills and Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications
