DISTRIBUTED LEARNING ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT (Administrative Support Assistant II)

The Administrative Support Assistant works independently, under general supervision, in support of CSU, Chico's Distributed Learning Program facilitating the Mental Health Workforce Education and Training Partnership (WET). The program is comprised of social work students (BSW/MSW) residing throughout 16 counties in Northern California (Approximately 80 students and 100 alumni). Incumbent provides general program support, as well as direct administrative support for the Distributed Learning Coordinator. Responsibilities include daily oversight of Distributed Learning office operations, public relations coordination, financial record keeping for foundation and grant accounts, website and calendar maintenance, outreach, recruitment and event support.
This position requires experience to be proficient in performing most or all work assignments and should include administrative support, coordinating and prioritizing many different clerical tasks, applying and communicating policies and procedures. These qualifications, and those listed above, would normally be obtained through completion of a high school program or its equivalent and two years recent experience in an office environment.Special Requirements:
- The person holding this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
- The duties of this position will include participation in a decision that may have a material/financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore, this is a designated position under the California State Universitys Conflict of Interest Code and the incumbent will be required to file a Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest and is subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission.
- A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position. This is considered a sensitive position. Current CSU, Chico employees are subject to a background check (including a criminal record check) if voluntarily moving into a sensitive position, regardless of any background checks previously conducted.
This position will need to be able to perform the essential job functions (duties) of this position with or without reasonable accommodations. this position alternates between remaining in a stationary position operating a personal computer for long periods of time and frequently moving about inside the office.
Position also involves frequent to constant interaction with students, faculty and staff to perform support functions. Attendance at weekend orientation and special events is required. Therefore, flexibility in working the 20 hours a week is required with advance notice.
